Recording and Rehearsal Studios

Recording and Rehearsal Studios

Here at Drum Lessons Sheffield we are never more proud than when we hear that one of drumming students has gone into the record studio for the first time! It is something that all local bands should aim for, we are also really passionate about supporting up and coming local bands so to help you along we have drawn together a list of what we consider to be the best recording venues in Sheffield to record your debut EP within.

2 Fly Studios

2 Fly Studios has become a legendary name in music recording, having produced the Arctic Monkeys revered Under the Boardwalk demos, which many maintain are better than their debut album, even sparking an essay to be written on the subject. This massive name has been followed by many others, like 65daysofstatic, Reverend and The Makers and Judan Suki. Getting your band's sound recorded is something every drummer should aspire to, and at 2 Fly Studios you'll be in experienced hands. Find them at Harland Works (1st floor), John Street, S2 4QU.

Yellow Arch

Since 1997 Yellow Arch have made a name for themselves as a recording studio and rehearsal space. Located at 30 - 36 Burton Road, S3 8BX, they offer well-equipped and spacious recording studios and rehearsal rooms for your band to get going. They also frequently host large parties of up to 1,000 people, so if you're looking for a studio with a fantastic atmosphere and staff with great passion and energy, Yellow Arch is for you.

Steel Work Studios

Steelworks Studios is a legendary name in the world of music recording. To name but a few of the globally successful artists they have housed: Celine Dion, Aretha Franklin, Take That, Boyzone. But as a drummer, who cares about them? They've also housed hard-hitting bands such as Laruso, Fightstar and Reverend and The Makers. With three acoustically-treated studios, two live rooms and one isolated vocal booth they are very well-equipped, and their reputation ensures that your band will be in good hands with Steelworks Studios. Check them out at 3 Brown Street, S1 2BS.

Attic Recording Studios

Attic Recording Studios, located on Worksball street / Mowbray street, S3 8DB, is the perfect place for an up-and-coming band of yours. They offer a free first time three hour rehearsal and one hour recording session for you and your band to try, and after that have cheap prices and great deals like student discounts. Although not as prolific as some of the other studios mentioned here, Attic is very well-equipped with five rehearsal rooms and a studio: perfect for a band that's just getting started.
